Cookie Policy
Every cookie we set, by name. There are four, and only one of them is optional.
Most cookie notices are long because the site has forty trackers to account for. This one is short because ShowPrepPro does not have any. There are no advertising pixels, no data brokers and no third-party marketing tags on this site, and there is nothing here that follows you to another one.
Required for the site to work
These three are set because the product cannot function without them. There is no meaningful way to consent to them separately — refusing the session cookie is the same as refusing to be signed in.
| Cookie | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
spp_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. Holds a random identifier, never your email or password. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
spp_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your answer to the cookie banner, so we stop asking. | 12 months |
spp_prefs | Preferences | Remembers how you like the app set up — On-Air Mode type size, scroll speed and section order — on this device. | 12 months |
Optional, and off until you say otherwise
| Cookie | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
spp_analytics | Analytics | Only set if you allow it. Tells us which pages get used so we know what to build next. No advertising, no cross-site tracking, never sold. | 12 months |
This is a real opt-in, not a pre-ticked box. The analytics script is not loaded, and no analytics cookie is written, unless you press "Allow analytics". Ignoring the banner is a refusal, and closing it without choosing leaves everything optional switched off.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. It reopens the banner, and your new answer replaces the old one immediately.
You can also clear cookies in your browser, or block them entirely. If you block the required ones, sign-in will not work — that is a limitation of how the web works, not a choice we made.
What about the rest of the web
Items in your edition link out to news outlets. Once you click one of those links you are on their site and under their cookie policy, which is very likely longer than this one.
